Dear faithful readers,
We would like to take this opportunity to urge you to become an active member of our AFFMA team, and to assist us in ensuring that our charity survives.
AFFMA has helped protect the lives of many refugees, asylum seekers and their families and wishes to carry on doing so.
AFFMA does not, and has not had, any funding either from the State or Federal Government.
While we can’t be 100% sure for lack of research, we believe that we are the only office-based charity in Australia that is 100% run by volunteers. This includes all office staff, managers, accountants, lawyers, board members, newsletter staff, migration agents and the CEO.
We are all professional people donating our time. This means that every single cent donated goes towards running the charity and helping refugees with their protection visas.
We are running low on funds and to continue protecting refugees and asylum seekers we will need your help.
Whether it is a big or small donation, every contribution means so much to our organisation.
Please carry on reading to see how you can make a difference and to see what we can do for you.
We will be calling our subscribers from Monday 07 September to request donations.
AFFMA will be asking for $1 a day for the next 120 days. This can be debited in 4 equal installments of $30 a month, for four months.
If you wish to donate you are able to do so in the form of equal installments, or pay $120 in one installment.
A dollar essentially does not get you a cup of coffee in Sydney; however, this $1 can be looked upon as a blessing to us to continue to help people that have lost their voice.
A dollar will not buy you a happy meal at McDonald’s nor will it buy you nuggets.
A dollar donated to AFFMA will go towards a great cause that will change someone’s life

Business Donations
As an owner of a business you know that marketing and advertising takes up a large part of your financial budget a year.
To thank you for your donation we are offering you the chance to advertise your business for FREE.
With a rapidly growing 2000+ subscribers to our newsletter you will be able to advertise your business to thousands of other businesses and potential customers.
Additionally you will all receive the added bonus of knowing that you made an impact on the life of someone who truly needs it, which is truly the highest reward there is.
We would like to give you a BIG Thank You in advance for your contribution and would also like to thank you on behalf of the people you have helped and their families.
In hindsight, AFFMA acknowledges that some people will not wish to be called or donate. If so please email us before Monday 07 September, and we will not contact you.

A warm welcome to this month’s issue and thank you again for your positive feedback. July has marked a very busy month at AFFMA as we have been heavily involved with many of the refugees currently in detention.
I would like to take this moment to thank all of our generous volunteers and our newsletter volunteer team for contributing to the smooth operation of our office.
We must remain optimistic as we champion the rights of asylum seekers who seek refuge on our shores. Despite the bleak political outlook, we must remain hopeful that our continued lobbying will push our leaders to act out of compassion rather than fear.
Let us think of the many men, women and children who brave the intolerable conditions of their homelands to seek a brighter future and take faith that they will soon be able to find peaceful and fulfilling lives in Australia.
On this note, I would like to announce that AFFMA will launch a crowdfunding campaign from our August issue in the hope of raising some of the funds necessary for continuing the provision of our services. Details will be published in our next issue.
